I think the fishbowl was good. People came into the innercircle, the conversation was really great, and the outer circle paid attention to the inner circle. I went in to the inner circle, even though I didn't speak, I heard a lot of great comments and it was aimed at the big picture, not just the small details. Overall, I think everyone did well and it was a great fishbowl.

I thought the fishbowl yesterday went very well. We did WAY better about not going in circles, we managed to move from topic to topic quite nicely. When we did end up staying on one topic for too long, everyone did a nice job about noticing so that we could move on to something else. Also, we talked about alot of different, really interesting things. Whether you could teach empathy or not was one of my favorite topics. I can tell that our fishbowls are going in the right direction from yesterday

I think that the fishbowl yesterday went a lot better than they have before. Everyone was more into it and they really stayed focused and to the topic. Also, nobody kept going back to the same points and repeating the same ideas. The inner circle did a good job of keeping the conversation going, it all flowed nicely. The outer circle had some good discussions going also.

This fishbowl was very on and off. On the inner circle we started off very shaky. Nobody quite knew what to say and it took us a few minutes to get going with a good discussion. But, once we got going it was better. Our discussions seemed to be good when we talked about whether or not empathy can be taught, as well as talked a lot about exactly what empathy is. People had a lot of different views about how much you can truly empathize with someone if you have never been in the same situation. We did, however, get stuck on the Hitler topic again. We spent several minutes talking about whether Hitler felt empathy for his victims. It got to be very off topic to the point where we were debating his intentions and were not talking about empathy at all anymore. But, other than the shaky start and "Hitler talk", I think we did great.

I got to be in both the Cover it Live and the inner cirlce which I found to be very benifcial. Strangely enough I have never really been in a fishbowl and I found out that alot of good questions were being asked but somehow they never made it all the way to the live conversation. I think that maybe something we need to improve on is taking some of the really bright ideas being discussed in the CoverIt Live and transfer them into the inner circle. Not that we didn't have enough to talk about in the inner circle. In fact, I thought the conversation went pretty well, towards the end when I came in,(no I'm not saying I spurred the conversaion haha).

I thought that this was a great fishbowl. We stayed on topic well and the presenters did a great job starting up new ideas and provoking thoughts. The inner circle was awesome and although they were a little repetitive with some concepts they covered pretty much everything important. The blog was good as well, but couldn't really keep my interest like the inner circle did. The guests seemed to be very intrigued with what we were saying and it was cool to see them get into it and participate as much as they did. Overall I thought that this was one of our best fishbowls yet.

This fishbowl was interesting to me, because empathy is something that everyone could relate to, so everyone had a lot more to say. I liked this fishbowl, and a lot of times I would find myself being "transfixed" (for lack of a better word) by the inner circle conversation, and would sit in the outer circle and just listen. I was frustrated because I really wanted to get into the inner circle but there were just so many other people who got there first, and whenever I had a point I wanted to make, by the time I would have gotten a chance to talk the point would be old. Next time I am going to be more interactive in the inner circle when I am so interested in the topic. This fishbowl explained a lot of things that I have personally wondered about.

Yesterday's fischbowl in the outer circle was ok but not great. I thought that some people were just asking question after question without a stopping to converse about the responses to the questions. Also the inner circle seemed to get onto the topic of movies and Hitler, again. I really think that they should e banned topics from now on, apart from that each circle had great topics as well as discussion. Great job!

I think that we did a really good job of coming into the inner circle, it wasn't just two or three people, it was a lot. We had some good conversations in the inner circle, somewhat digressing while talking about Hitler... yet again? But at times it felt like all we were doing in the inner circle was talking about what empathy is, and not how to apply it to life and learning. The blog had some iffy parts, but overall was good. Great job team.

I think this was a good fishbowl. We had good points and talked a lot about how education should/does incorporate empathy. However, we did get off topic occasionally and some comments were made that are definitely not true. I think we need to stay off of the topic of Hitler or the past in general, and mainly focus on the now and the future.

We had a fairly successful fishbowl yesterday. I think we touched on some good points that came straight from our minds instead of the book; like how to teach empathy and how to apply it to the classroom. We did however get off topic sometimes and we stayed on the same subject for too long. I wanted to see more people come into the inner circle, but the outer circle did do a better job of coming in then last time. I know that I personally dominated a lot of the inner circle conversation and so did a couple other people, but I felt that some students let that intimidate them and they barely spoke.
Thanks, I look forward to our next fishbowls!

I thought that the fishbowl went pretty good yesterday but Mrs. smith had to lead to a more important point on empathy. Also the inner circle sometimes got a little to off topic, but for the most part, the fishbowl went really good. The outer circle had good convrsation and were pretty much on topic.

I felt empathy was a great fishbowl topic because it is very easily defined and easy to speak about. The inner circle disscussion was pretty good, I wasn't overly excited about some of the topics we landed on: icluding, the parts concerning an empathetic doctor. I also wasn't too happy when we kept returning to the subject of teaching empathy, considering we landed there about 5 times. I didn't pay much attention to the blog, however, I'm sure it was great as always. Even though there were some negative aspects of the fishbowl I still thought it was very productive and intellectual.

I think that we all could have done a much better job in the discussion. The outer circle definitely did a really good job in discussing the topic at hand. I do wish that the inner circle would have done a better job. There were a couple people who dominated the conversation, and that is good, except for the fact that others have things to say, too. Other than that, we all did a decent job.

I was very impressed yesterday with our fishowl, the conversation flowed very well, and I think we covered a lot of interesting and important topoics from the section. I thought the people we fishbowled with (besides our classmates) had a ton of information, I really learned from them. I thought the outer circle did a great job on the blog, and I really can't think of anything critical to say. I did go into the inner circle once when they were talking about doctors assosiated with empathy, and I have to say, It was a great conversation! Kudos to the inner circle for keeping the conversation running smoothly.

The empathy for fishbowl went very well. The inner circle had some very good conversations about empathy in medicine and there was a constructive debate on whether it was good or bad. The thing the inner circle kept coming back to, even though it seemed like it had been covered, was whether or not empathy could be taught. I felt like the inner circle came back to this topic too much and repeated what had already been said a few times.Other then little bit of repetitive topics it was a very good fishbowl.

I thought that the fishbowl was one of the best yet. People in the inner circle were actually passionate about their ideas and we got some opposition which really helps me to reform and strengthen my ideas. At one point one of the topics was controversial and offensive to me, and at first I was outraged that such an idea could even be thought. Although I will never agree with this actual thought it did make me realize that I must personally help to educate how evil this one person was and that I hope that others know enough about him to know his nature to the bone. It opened my eyes to a truth that I wish didn't exist. Therefore, and because of many other reasons I thought it was a great fishbowl.

Yesterday's fishbowl I thought went impressively well. The inner and outer circles' discussions were deep yet stayed on topic, for the most part. But when we did stray off topic the inner circle participants were quick to pull the conversation back on track. People were moving in and out of the inner circle, which was great. Everyone was really well prepared which made the whole discussion wonderful. Nice job guys!

I thought that the fishbowl went really well also. The inner circle had an intense conversation and a lot of people moved from the outer circle to the inner circle. The outer circle had many small conversations but they were mostly on topic. Empathy proved to be a very controversial topic and I really enjoyed listening and reading the many discussion. I also liked how the inner circle focused on everything, including the bug and small picture.

I think that the fishbowl went sort of well yesterday. We stayed on topic throughout the whole time and had a very lively discussion. Many points were raised and the discussion seemed to be fluid. However, some people could have participated more. Also, it seemed that the discussion could have been livelier. Overall, I think that the fishbowl went well but there is definite room for improvement.

Yesterday's fishbowl was shaky. I think that as a group, we get very immersed in "buzz words" such as Hitler. I know this was my fault, but this was not the point I was trying to make, I was only using this as an example of empathy as not always a good thing. I also think that we need to be as open-minded as possible when entering a fishbowl conversation, because they are ultimately learning experiences and if no one is able to expand horizons, we can't learn.
