John- The wise people could show them the positives of the other side but no one could be 'forced' to change their ways. Some might change their minds but you are always going to have 'outcasts' who don't agree. And where are these wise people coming from?

Alex-
Good point!
I have been wondering about this for quite a while, what is going on in the rest of the world?

Stella- Everyone has something that pushes them to far and in this society until they feel that feeling they aren't going to know wether or not they are a reble.

Katie- That is a good point, but what do you do if it is your house that is being burned wouldn't you try to get a reaction out of these people? I don't get how they can just act like nothing happened.

Bayley- Is that why we study our past? So we don't go into another World War? or another Civil War? Or also our technology. If we study, we can make it bigger and better.

Alexandria-

Guy was struck by the mechanical hound with the anethsetizer (misspelled I know sorry) so now Montag cannot feel his leg and he is on the run from the government.

Alex-

The Hound got him (Kinda) with provacaine and morphine, which make his leg go numb (Hence why it was "Dragging behind him like pennance for some obscure sin").

Also, to the INNER CIRCLE

What does this quote tell us about what Montag has done?

Hannah-

That's what I was asking!

Laura-

I agree about Mildred.

I compared Faber to a seed that he planted in Guy and Clarisse came along and watered the seed to make it grow.

Sammie- I would definately cause a scene and try to get these people to realize what is going on. But in the society, houses are burned almost on a daily basis, so the people are numb to reactions. Just like how one of Mildred's friends has had like four husbands, and they were all killed but she isn't dwelling on it.

Jay- but Faber was taught that information by books so books were the beginning of this cycle also they were the end because Faber is the pencil who writes on Montag who then spreads knowledge about like a book being passed around a community.

Alex-Montag burned his leg.

As for the others, you seem to get it now. Faber is writing on montag the hope for change (haha like Barack Obama) but also keep in mind paper burns easier, Montag is on the run. Comments?

Jay-

How far can we go with bigger and better technology? Will we get to the super computer? Or will we every get to this society that Ray Bradbury is describing?

jays2012 said...

Connor- How do you write a book?

ericak2012 said...

Everyone-
What IS going on in the rest of the world while this society is like this...

bayleyk2012 said...

Jay- I think so. We all learn from our mistakes. Knowing what we know now would we go do the same things we did in those wars or would we do something else? It helps us make hard decisions. Like precident.

sammiet2012 said...

Peter- But how do you get everyone to start over at the same time or do you just get rid of everyone that doesn't think like you until you force your way back to that starting block?

jays2012 said...

Laura- I don't know where we will go. I cannot tell what is going to happen in the future. All i know is that if we stick to our ideas, we can improve them to get bigger and better.

Erica-
So, the war doesn't matter to them because their problems or their intersts are more "important". Which is kind of sick because this world could end at any moment just because of this "short" war.

Does this really take place in America? Where does it say that? Do we really know where this takes place? If it does, than it is sort of like V for Vendetta, where England is pretty much the only "safe" country in the world. But this safety is exchanged for control. In F451, this society is "happy", yet there is a war, and people are starving around the world. It's also sort of like Pleasantville, where color is a terrible thing. Everything has to be black and white, or else!

Kyle-
